Jette Perfume
Jette is a fairly new design house specialising in fashion, jewellery, watches, fragrance, sunglasses and roller-skates. It was established in 1997 by Jette Joop, the daughter of Wolfgang Joop, creator of the well-known Joop! fragrance range.
Born Henriette Elisabeth Joop in Braunschweig, Germany in 1968, Jette was educated in Hamburg and then in Oxford, England. She then travelled to the USA to study, earning a BSc in Industrial Design from the Art Centre College of Design in California, before beginning her fashion career in New York. Having worked for famous design houses like Polo Ralph Lauren, she returned to Hamburg and set up her own company, JETTE GmbH, in 1997.
Jette Joop’s designs are strongly influenced by her industrial design background, and she uses architecture as inspiration, particularly for her jewellery and watches. Her range of skates also highlights her youthful, contemporary perspective on fashion.
Jette launched her first fragrance, called simply Jette, in August 2005, and a second perfume, By Night Jette followed in August 2006.
