Salvador Dalí Perfume

Salvador Dalí was born in Catalonia, Spain in 1904. The renowned surrealist artist began learning his craft at a drawing school and in 1922 he continued his artistic education at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. He was eventually expelled from the school in 1926 for criticising his lecturers. In 1927, he carried out under a years worth of military service. He spent some time living in France, married in 1934 and eventually migrated to America in 1940.

Over the years, he exhibited his works in many places, starting with his parent’s home when he was a child through to the Dalmau Gallery in Barcelona, the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, the Pierre Colle Gallery in Paris and the Julien Levy Gallery in New York. Amongst his most famous paintings is “The Persistence of Memory”, which he first showed in 1932.

The talented Salvador Dalí was also a sculptor, designer, director, writer and actor. He had roles in a few films, most notably the short “Un Chien Andalou” (1929) which was blasted for its ugly scenes. An article entitled “Saint Sebastian”, which was published in 1927, was his first important piece of written work and he contributed scenes and ideas for an Alfred Hitchcock and also a Harpo Marx film.

Dalí was also an influence in the world of fashion and designed dresses, hats and jewellery. He worked with both Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior, and also ventured into perfume bottle and textile designing.

In 1960, Dalí started work on the Dalí Theatre and Museum in Spain, where his first works had been shown years before. He was buried here after his death in 1989.

The design house of Salvador Dalí produces unique fragrances and the bottles they are presented in are visually stunning.
