Armani Perfume

Armani is a popular fashion brand, well known for of its elegant, tailored clothing and its luxurious perfumes.

Giorgio Armani was born in Piacenza, Italy in 1934 and in 1950, he moved to Milan to study medicine. He started his fashion career in 1957 as a buyer for department store La Rinascente in the late 1950s, where he also put together many window displays and created a role for himself as the company’s stylist. In 1964, he began to work as a fashion designer for Hitman, the menswear company owned by Nino Cerruti before setting up as a freelance designer in 1970.

In 1974, Armani produced his first collection, which was admired both by buyers and the fashion press and, as a result of this success, he and his friend Sergio Galeotti founded their own design house, Giorgio Armani S.p.A.

Throughout the rest of the 20th century, Armani gained recognition as a brand of quality and innovation, and has been particularly noted for its iconic range of suits. Giorgio Armani also has a wider appeal than many other designers due to his desire to appeal to fashionable younger people who don’t necessarily have the money to pay designer prices. It was this section of society that he had in mind when he launched Emporio Armani, his jeans and sportswear label, in 1981. Since then, Armani has launched ranges of children’s clothes, gifts and even a restaurant.

Giorgio Armani Parfums was created in 1980, when Armani signed a license agreement with L’Oreal, and the first fragrance in the range, Armani for Men was launched in 1983. The first of Armani’s fragrances for women, Gio, was launched in 1992. Since then, the range has expanded to include a number of different fragrances, all of which are known for their luxurious elegance.
