Donna Karan Perfume

The award-winning designer Donna Karan grew up with a deep interest in fashion. Born in New York in 1948, she studied at design school then eventually went on to work for Anne Klein. Here Karan’s talents soon became evident, and she became associate designer after only two years, and then co-head designer at age 26, after Klein’s death in 1974.

Karan left Anne Klein in 1984, and founded her own house with her late husband, sculptor Stephan Weiss. The following year she brought out her first collection, which was an immediate success. Donna Karan is known for designing clothes for ‘real women’, and 1988 saw her set up DKNY, a more affordable label for the younger person. Karan stepped down as CEO in 1997 and the company is now owned by LVMH.

DKNY stores and Donna Karan stores are located internationally. They sell many lines in addition to women’s clothing, including cosmetics, men’s clothing, accessories and fragrances. Donna Karan’s first perfume was launched in1992, and the range now includes a variety of popular fragrances for both women and men.
