Kenzo Perfume
Kenzo Takada was born in Japan in 1939. After a brief stint at university, he attended the Bunka Fashion College and when he completed his studies he moved to Paris in 1964, where he tried to get his talents noticed. He eventually sold some design sketches and, in 1970, Kenzo had his first show and celebrated the establishment of his store, which he named Jungle Jap.
Kenzos collections were shown in New York and Tokyo, and in the late 1970s he staged amazing shows in circus tents. 1983 saw Kenzo launch a menswear range, and in 1988 the design house expanded its product lines by releasing its first perfume. LVMH bought the company in 1993, and in 1999 Kenzo Takada retired for a while, before returning in 2005 with a line of home designs.
