Prada Perfume
The company was originally established by Mario Prada in 1913 as a leather goods business, and was known as Prada Brothers. In 1979, Mario’s granddaughter, Miuccia Prada, took over and her new outlook brought about great success. The house began to launch couture lines made from the best fabrics, and Prada grew in size and reputation. In the 1980s the Prada bag became such a must-have item that it was copied everywhere.
A ready-to-wear collection was created in 1989, and with the launch of the cheaper Miu Miu line and a sports collection, the fashion house went from strength to strength and is now global concern. Prada won the Council of Fashion Designers of America International Award in 1993 and Miuccia Prada won Designer of the Year in 1995. Prada also still produces leather goods along with shoes, eyewear and perfumes.
